The ELT
Business Group began in March 1975 with a small workshop of 450 m2 and
seven workers. Its founder, Francisco Artero Fernández, used his
experience gained in the FRATER Company since 1962, and created
Especialidades Luminotecnicas to manufacture ballasts and transformers
for lighting. Since then its evolution has been constant and the ELT
brand is now recognised throughout the world. ELT currently have four
factories in Zaragoza and one in Argentina. Its Zaragoza facilities, covering more than 32.000 m2 , employ a team of
more than 250 people. It is engaged in designing, manufacturing and
selling auxiliary lighting equipment, as well as marketing supplementary
products for lighting. The key factor that sets ELT apart is that we
develop our own technology and product, and this is why
we are still leaders on the domestic market and are becoming more and
more consolidated on foreign markets. |

The values that identify us are customer satisfaction, innovation in
manufacturing product development, product reliability and the positive
evolution of business performance.
Our vision is to be recognised on the market as leaders in both product
and service quality, innovators in products and technology, creating
employment and adapting to the changing world of lighting.
The ELT Group has two main factories: ELT in Spain and ELTAR in Argentina,
manufacturing ballasts for fluorescent and discharge lamps and transformers
for halide lamps. It has the following divisions:
- ELSA manufactures all kinds of assemblies, encapsulated, and products with special characteristics.
- ELB manufactures electronic ballasts.
- ELT PLASTICOS manufactures all the plastic components that are included in our products.
The business philosophy of ELT is based on
the renovation and improvement of its resources, supported by a highly
qualified team, with regular training processes, a constant reinvestment
policy and continuous job creation. The company profile is young, dynamic
and booming, an adequate model to satisfy our customers’ needs in a more and
more demanding market.

We are still growing, adapting to technological changes, integrating new and
more efficient processes while being committed to the environment.
ELT, always on the alert for future trends in the sector and aware of
the importance of specialisation, as its name reflects, created a new
company “Electronica de Balastos, S.L.”, ELB, also located in Zaragoza –
Spain, and engaged exclusively in the design and manufacture of high
frequency electronic ballasts. In 2003, ELB
Certified its Quality Management System according to UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2000. With the
inauguration of ELB in June 2002, ELT gives its business a strong boost,
and it is confirmed as one of the major manufacturers of the sector,
present in more than sixty countries.
The companies of the ELT Group devote more than 3% of their turnover to
Research, Development and Innovation, resulting in the development of
more than 2,000 different products. We protect the innovations and ideas
which represent a competitive advantage, with patents and utility models.

Our long history and continued expansion across the world has been
acknowledged by many official departments, government bodies, town councils,
chambers of commerce, universities and training centres.
Many and very significant prizes and awards have been obtained over these
three decades, fuelling our wish to continue along this line of service,
development and projection.
Our evolution is acknowledged and our satisfaction coincides with that of
installers, customers and suppliers, manufacturers and prescribers, teachers
and researchers, and the whole complicated framework that makes up the
lighting world day by day.
